The Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology is seeking a candidate at the
ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR level to become Director of the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology,
which will be housed in the Pharmacology Department. The candidate will interact with emerging
programs in drug discovery and clinical pharmacology in the College of Medicine and the College of
Pharmacy. Additional recruits will be available to develop the institute. There is also the potential for
a leadership role within the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences (CCTS) that houses the
Applicants’ research interests should align with some aspect of the department’s strengths, including
drug development in the areas of brain aging or Alzheimer’s disease, cancer progression/metastasis,
and obesity and associated diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases). The successful candidate
will have a doctoral degree(s) and be highly accomplished researcher in clinical pharmacology or a
related field. The successful applicant would be expected to have an established extramurally-funded
research program and participate in pharmacology education.
